Course Description:

Honors Chemistry goes beyond the general high-school chemistry course. The course takes an accelerated, in-depth look at chemical principles. It uses a college textbook and is designed for those students who are highly motivated to study chemistry. The emphasis in the class is on chemical problem solving. Students also complete a series of hands-on lab experiments to further their understanding of chemistry concepts. Due to the rapid pace and depth in covering material, good study habits and strong math skills are a must.

In addition to being a full chemistry course, this class also prepares students to sit for the SAT® Subject Test in Chemistry. Students take a number of SAT® Chemistry Subject Test practice exams by the end of the course.
